So what is the Ambassador Scheme?
This scheme provides a unique training opportunity to enhance your knowledge of Eryri National Park’s Special Qualities and all that makes Eryri exceptional. As an ambassador of this scheme, you will play an important role in enriching the visitor and local experience of Eryri.
Used by Mountain Leaders and tour guides to enhance their knowledge of the area, and help promote local businesses. As a regular guide with groups up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) it gives me a huge amount of knowledge to pass onto my various groups.
The scheme covers local history, geology, wildlife, fauna, folklore, with the current scheme is to make Snowdon plastic free. Once a year you’ll spend half an hour doing an online refresher course, you’ll get a car sticker, certificates and more recently I got a load of freebies through the post. The best part is that it’s absolutely free.
